In this project, I have been asked to design a badge for myself and another badge for someone in the group. This badge represents who we really are and how would you be able to create a unique badge that really presents you.
I have designed a unique badge for myself that represents who I am. I have created an Om (Hindu symbol), which has a mirror crack effect on the image as it represents what religion I am. I'm still religious but not the way I was back at home in India due to living in this country it is really hard to follow the religion. Also the life has become really busy so you hardly get time to pay attention on other things due to work.
Since I was a child in India, I have done henna design for different occasions and since then I am really fond of creating henna pattern designs. Therefore, I have included a design pattern inside the badge of the shape to represent my passion for henna.
I have designed a badge for LaYin Kwok who is a student from Graphic Design. She is friend of mine. Her style is more like a boy; she loves to dress up in hoodies with trainers and this represents her. The design of the badge is really good but it still doesn’t stand out the way I was expecting.
Another task was to create a product that exemplifies this notion and I have decided to remake a jewellery box using different materials such as, a glass to cover the top of the jewellery box and create a base to put your personal products like a diary or letters or anything thing that is personal for you that you don’t want to share with someone else. For the security reason I have decided to add lock so nobody can go through your jewellery box.
This is my final design that I have produced, this design represents more of who I am compare to the first design. I have designed henna patterns on girl’s hairstyles, as I am also really fond of doing hairstyle such as messy buns. Therefore, I tried to relate it to the design as that represents part of me. To make it more of who I am, I decided to draw bun and a quiff using henna patter rather than just sketching it. In addition, I have used different sizes and pattern of henna to give texture to the bun and a quiff, as you would normally see in a messy bun.
Here I have created another one, which I think, is more suitable for her for who she really is. The effects that I have used for these images are really attractive, as I have used the contrast and brightness effect using Photoshop.
