...........................................................................................................................................
In this task, we have worked as a group with Laiyin, Sonia and I. It's been really great working in this project as we had to crete a game as a group as well as creating my own little mock up game.
The game can be played individually or up to 3 players, age from 10. We made the game easy so it can be easily carried around where ever you go. We as a group decided to have up to 3 players due to us being 3 in a group. therefore, this game represents Laiyin, Sonia and myself.
In order to find out how we can construct our board game. We did research on different types of board
games such as Chess, Checker, Scrabble, Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly, Taboo and
Ludo. We did this to see how we can re-create our game, what information we should
contain when it comes to playing the game and the instructions of the game. This has
helped us out to build our own games and it has been successful working as a team.
Our inspiration for the first game came from the Ludo. Although, we changed all the rules and the layout of the game, and we also changed how many players can play the game. However, one of the big changes that we made in our game is instead of rolling the dices, we made cards and the inspiration for this, came from the game called Taboo. Yet, we made it more challenging for the players as we added numbers at the bottom of the card from 1-3, 1 being easy and 3 being hard. If the card is guessed correctly then players can move squares according to the number they have on their picked card.
The image shown blow is the components to see which one will be an appropriate and which will be the most suitable for the game. I have produced using different coloured card for this game. To make this flat components into 3D, the players have to lift up each sides of the triangles and put them together and make sure the top corner where the 3-point meets are together. At the edge of the each side, there is a dotted line where the players must bend it in order to stick all the sides together and to create it into a 3D. For the final components, I have used 2cm long to create a components using different cards so it can fit perfectly into the square of the board game.
We have produced 50 cards with some questions that are really challenging as well as some being really easy.
An image shown below, is two different pamphlets which shows how I created this board game. The reason for this being in two parts it is because we also had to crete our own mock up game and one for the team.therefore, the blue rectangle is my own game and the one in purple is the team game which I have produced.
The images shown below is the team game that I have produced. The game is made from the card but I have laminated them in order to look professional and made it waterproof at the same time. To make it look like that it has been produced manufacturing, I have used a wood underneath to make the game hard so when you carry around it stays straight with out even getting any dents.
The pictures shown below is a triangle box. That I have created using the same card, that I have used to make components for the 50 cards that I previously produced. The reason being that it is easy to carry it around.
The pictures that are shown below is my mock up game, that I have created using foam board. The reason for this is that I wanted to make the surface thick so is easy to carry around and it will be much more comfortable to play as it it more 3D, rather than 2D.
The images shown below is a triangle cover box for the cards which I have created using the same card that I have used to make components.
